The Christmas Markets in the South Tyrol
Spending the period before Christmas in the Dolomites is a dream. That’s because all these beautiful alpine towns put on their festive clothes and await people with their traditional delicacies.
We visited during the summer and loved every moment. From the natural beauty that surprises you at every corner, to the fantastic child-friendly facilities you find everywhere.

Lagundo, Bolzano – 28th November 2025 to 4th January 2026 (every weekend, and daily between December 29th to 4th of January)
Bolzano – 28th November 2025 to 6th January 2026
Vipiteno – 27th November 2025 to 6 January 2026
Brunico (Bolzano) – 28th November 2025 to 6th January 2026
Renon (Bolzano) – 28th November 2025 to 4th January 2026
Val Gardena – 30th of November to 5th January 2026

Florence Christmas Market
The Tuscan capital has a few Christmas Markets organised around its main piazzas. This year, Forence’s Christmas Market will feature Europe’s longest ice skating rink. Also, a big ferris wheel will be located in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in the Cascine Park.
By walking around Florence, you’ll get the chance to have different experiences. But the most important one is the German Christmas Market located in Piazza Santa Croce. It’s the perfect place to soak up the holiday spirit, pick up unique souvenirs, and enjoy a cozy break from sightseeing with a cup of hot chocolate in hand.
If you are traveling with kids, here you’ll also find Santa’s house with games and activities for children.

Arezzo Christmas Market
Proclaimed Italy’s largest Tirolese Village, Arezzo is famous in Italy.
Set in the heart of Arezzo’s beautiful Piazza Grande, the market transforms the medieval square into a cozy alpine wonderland, complete with wooden huts, twinkling lights, and festive music.
You’ll find handcrafted gifts, traditional ornaments, and delicious mountain-style food like pretzels, sausages, and hot mulled wine.
There’s even a Santa’s House and light shows that make it extra magical for families.
Dates: November 15th to December 28th
Rome Christmas Market
One of the highlights is the charming market held in Piazza Navona with dozens of wooden stalls selling handcrafted decorations, toys, seasonal sweets and the Italian “Befana” stockings tradition. This main Christmas market is held between December 1 to January 6.
Another standout is the spacious holiday village at Villa Borghese (November 30 – January 6) featuring themed zones, an ice rink, and family-friendly fun right in Rome’s green heart.
And if you want a trully authentic experience, head to the Parco del Lago dell’EUR for the “Natale a Roma” exchibition. The space will have over 100 stalls, including a Christmas Village, Santa’s House, and an ice skating rink. Dates: December 1st – December 26th
Naples Christmas Market
This winter, Naples truly shines: from November 15, 2025 to January 7, 2026, the city will be wrapped in festive magic, thanks to over 150 km of light installations, giant Christmas trees in major squares like Piazza Dante and Piazza dei Martiri, and a charming Santa’s Village in Piazza del Plebiscito.
Meanwhile, the market at the Museo Nazionale Ferroviario di Pietrarsa (opening November 29) invites visitors to stroll among wooden huts filled with artisan crafts, local food & wine, and live street-performances.
