I’ve always dreamt of going on an Amalfi Coast road trip, and after doing it, I want to go back as soon as possible. Go back and explore more of the hidden photogenic corners the villages on the coast have.

No matter if you arrive in Positano by boat from one of the other villages on the Amalfi Coast, Naples, or even Rome, the view you’ll get once you approach Positano is worth it.

Spiaggia Grande
This one is as simple as that: there’s only one beach in Positano. In fact, that’s also one of the most Instagrammable places in Positano.
Spend some time on the beach, soak in the sun, and immortalize some pretty stunning pictures right there.
TIP: If you want to take the best pictures in this location, come first thing in the morning. That’s when the beach is clear of people, and also the light is perfect for catching that back hill filled with colorful houses.
Promenade
Just a few steps away, it’s the Positano promenade. Another picture-perfect spot to add to your list.
As you will see, most of the picturesque spots in Positano are really close to one another. Nonetheless, you will still need plenty of time to wander around and capture those perfect pictures, mainly because Positano is crowded most of the time.

The Marina
You can always bring your camera to the beach and take those magical sunset or sunrise pictures from inside the water.

The stairs at the entrance of Rada restaurant
Just towards the end of the beach, at the end of the umbrella row, and where the stairs start climbing. That’s another place where you will take plenty of nice pictures of the Amalfi Coast gem, Positano.
The beach changing rooms
Colorful and fun, they are hard to miss. Blue and white stripes, red and white stripes, choose which one fits you better!

Yes, it is one of the most popular spots on Positano’s beach. But it is all for a good reason.

Buca di Bacco
Another famous restaurant, hotel, and an Instagram spot in Positano.
Come here to take cooking classes as well. You can learn how to cook delicious Italian food, create some great content, and eat it!
TIP: We visited Positano in August, and the flowers on the famous Instagram wall at the entrance of Buca di Bacco were not in bloom. Spring is more suitable for a better picture.
The Delicatessen in Positano
As you move forward from the Buca di Bacco restaurant and build your way up to where the stairs and the road start ascending, you’ll find it. On a corner, with some stairs perfectly designed as if with a photo session in mind.
Lemon sorbet and tables with colorful tiles
One thing is certain: you cannot go to Positano or on the Amalfi Coast and miss out on lemon sorbet.
The lemons from the Amalfi Coast are some of the best in the world, they are so big you won’t believe your eyes, and very sweet. Hey, they’re so famous I even found them in a supermarket in Hong Kong.
For that reason, you must go and try the locally made lemon sorbet which comes served in an actually frozen lemon. Oh, and don’t leave without at least a bottle of limoncello.
Another great thing worth doing is going on a lemon tour on the Amalfi Coast. The lemon groves are a great photo spot.
Le Sirenuse and Franco’s Bar
There’s no chance on Earth you still haven’t heard about this place if you are researching going to the Amalfi Coast. Le Sirenuse might be one of the most famous hotels in the world.
And it is that way for a good reason. The view you get from this place is what fairytales are made of.
Unfortunately, as you’ve expected from such a popular destination, you can get in only if you book a room at the hotel.
Don’t be sad yet. I’ve got you covered, and you won’t have to spend a fortune on the views: book a table and come for drinks at Franco’s Bar.
Li Galli Bistro
Just across the “street” from La Sirenuse on the opposite hill, offering the same stunning view as Li Galli Restaurant and Grill.
Open from April the 1st until the end of November, it might be a good idea to head over outside of peak season.
Via Cristoforo Colombo – the ultimate Instagram spot in Positano
Walk further once you leave Le Sirenuse on your right and get to the road with stunning views. Via Cristoforo Colombo offers lots of picture possibilities.
You’ll see flower-covered benches and that one particular spot where everyone has a picture in Positano.
The colorful souvenir and ceramics shops
They are everywhere in town, making it so vibrant and colorful! I couldn’t help myself and stopped by almost at every shop and was mesmerized by all the options you have on display.
Of course, if you can’t resist them, you can always buy something and have it shipped back home. Or just take a picture at one of the most Instagrammable places in Positano.
All the pretty narrow alleys up the hill
The first thing we did was to take the stairs right from the Marina to the left, hoping to discover awesome views and some Instagram spots in Positano.
However, the views weren’t really stunning during our climb, mostly because there were houses and walls on both sides. Yet the streets are pretty themselves.
And they got us to the top, from where we had those views we were looking for.
Il San Pietro di Positano
Not exactly in Positano, you’ll need to take the bus or a taxi to get to Il San Pietro di Positano, but it will be worth it.
Come just for dinner and have a remarkable view of Positano lit up. And those colorful tables and benches are another reason why you must go all the way there.
The fruit car
Also, outside of Positano, on the Coast, you’ll find the fruit car. One of the most picture-perfect stops on your journey on the winding roads between Positano and Villa Treville.

Fiordo di Furore
Ok, this might be outside of Positano, and ideally, you would take a boat to get there and have the perfect view. And, of course, the perfect picture spot.
The water’s color is stunning, and the fjord is something worth seeing.

Another stunning place, to be considered also as an accommodation option and as picture heaven.
