Via dello Studio is one of Florence’s best-kept photo spots. Why? Because when you stand at the right angle, you get an incredible view of the Duomo framed perfectly between the narrow historic buildings.
It’s that classic Florence shot with the cathedral dome rising above old stone facades, lanterns, and shutters – capturing both the grandeur and intimate charm of the city in one picture.
Plus, it’s usually less crowded than the piazza itself, so you can take your time and get that dreamy, postcard-perfect photo without dozens of tourists in the background.
If you want an iconic yet unique Florence shot, this is the place.
La Terrazza Sul Duomo Firenze
B&B La Terrazza Sul Duomo is one of the best photo spots in Florence because its terrace offers an unbeatable, up-close view of the Duomo.
Imagine waking up, stepping outside with your morning espresso, and seeing Brunelleschi’s dome right in front of you – no crowds, no noise, just you and one of the world’s most iconic sights.

Head instead to View on Art Rooftop Cocktail Bar, perched atop Hotel Medici. It’s free to enter, and with a drink in hand (€10–12 for a classic Negroni or Spritz), you’ll be up at eye-level with Brunelleschi’s dome and Giotto’s bell tower—just inches away.
The terrace is small and casual, but its charm lies in that unbeatable view without hotel rates or busy crowds.
Pro tip: Arrive around 5 pm to snag a railing seat for sunset photos. Cheers to memorable views, no hefty room cost required!
Giunti Odeon – Libreria e Cinema
This iconic cinema, built in the 1920s, has been transformed into a stunning bookstore with golden ceilings, chandeliers, and Art Deco details that make every corner photo-worthy.
You’ll find books stacked under elegant arches, cosy reading nooks, and even a café where you can sip your cappuccino surrounded by beautiful architecture. It feels like stepping into a movie set or an old-world library.
Plus, it’s an indoor spot, perfect for capturing unique shots away from the crowds or on rainy days.
Osteria delle Tre Panche – Centro Storico
Come for the views, stay for the food!
Tucked away near the Duomo, this cosy restaurant has a rooftop terrace with breathtaking views over Florence’s rooftops and Brunelleschi’s dome.
It’s not as crowded as the popular rooftop bars, so you can quietly enjoy your meal while snapping unique, postcard-perfect shots.
The contrast of rustic Tuscan dishes on your table with the Duomo rising behind makes for stunning food and travel photos.
Ponte Santa Trinita
You might be inclined to go to the Ponte Vecchio for a picture, but the best spot for a picture with the bridge is … on one of its neighboring bridges.
Thus, go to Ponte alle Grazie or Ponte Santa Trinita and capture the best picture with the Ponte Vecchio.
Fotoautomatica (Via Santa Monaca)
This place has been made famous by Instagram and TikTok, so you will most likely find quite a few people waiting in line for the perfect photo opportunity.
There are a few Fotoautomatica scattered around Florence, but this red one is the most photogenic in my opinion.
Giardini di Villa Bardini or Piazzale Michelangelo
Everyone gathers in Piazzale Michelangelo for the best sunset view over Florence. However, the view from the neighboring gardens of Villa Bardini is beautiful.
Sure, you must pay an entrance ticket, but it is worth it if you want to have the view to yourself. Moreover, on the first Sunday of every month, admission is free.
La Ménagère
This café, restaurant, concept store, and florist all in one feels like stepping into a stylish magazine spread. Every corner is beautifully designed, with exposed brick walls, vintage furniture, and fresh flowers everywhere.
The soft lighting, elegant table settings, and lush plants create a romantic, effortlessly chic vibe perfect for aesthetic shots.
